Six Step Reframe

The essence of this technique is find an unwanted behavior, then to separate the intention from the unwanted behavior.  Then we ask the client’s unconscious mind to create new options to fulfill the intention behind the behavior and then substitute a new more productive pattern to fulfill the underlying intention.  The steps are listed as follows:

  1. Access the behavior
  2. Set up a signal for communication with the unconscious mind
  3. Discover and acknowledge the benefits of the undesired behavior
  4. Create new choices to receive the same benefits, without producing the unwanted behavior
  5. Check for congruency
  6. Future Pace and Test
